Yu-Gi-Oh! has a variety of Summoning mechanics and Spell and Trap subtypes. However, there are a number of further areas of design that I’m surprised Konami never tried to explore, or if they did, they implemented it in a less than ideal manner. My custom mechanics take inspiration from mechanics shown in the manga but never adapted to the TCG, from similar mechanics that appear in other trading card games that I wish had been brought over to Yu-Gi-Oh!, and my own original ideas.

Equip Traps

While looking for a copy of Metalmorph, it occurred to me that Traps that equip themselves to monsters would be easier to find if they had the Equip subtype icon, and many Continuous Traps would be easy to make as Equip Traps.
