Author’s Note: For this assignment, I decided I wanted to expand upon Raindrops and flesh that story out further. As such, its events do get incorporated into my notes for chapter 1. As I was planning this novel at the same time that I was planning Playing with Fire and expanding the magic system there, I also got to incorporate my changes to how pathomancy worked from that story into my notes on it in this story’s appendices, which I actually didn’t write from scratch but rather adapted from my notes on pathomancy in the Campfire project I created to keep track of this story’s fictional universe.
